Lemonade Stand Adventure 🍋 July 24, 2026

Activities We Enjoyed:

• Lemon Sensory Bin – Children explored a fun lemon sensory bin, which built sensory awareness, creativity, and imaginative play.

• Lemonade Names – Children created their own silly lemonade names to wear on their name tags, including names like Professor Sour Puckerpants and Boss Silly Lemon Drop.  This encouraged connection, language development, creativity, and fun.

• Five Senses with a Real Lemon – During circle time, children explored seeing, touching, hearing, smelling, and tasting as we passed around a real lemon and shared observations..  This activity supported vocabulary, sensory awareness, and hands-on learning.

• Making Homemade Lemonade – Children squeezed lemons using a hand squeezer, then added water and sugar before enjoying their lemonade creation.  It strengthened fine motor skills, hand strength, and hand-eye coordination.

• Lemonade Stand Signs – Children designed their own lemonade stand signs and decided what their stand would sell and how much it would cost, encouraging creativity, decision-making, and self-expression.

• Money Math with the Lemonade Stand – Children used a wooden cash register and play money to practice counting, buying, and selling.  This built early math skills, problem-solving, and reasoning.

• Lemonade Play-Doh – Children created lemonade-inspired designs using colorful Play-Doh and lemon cookie cutters, which supported fine motor development, creativity, and sensory exploration.

• Lemon Stamp Art – Children used dehydrated lemon slices and paint to create beautiful lemon prints, encouraging artistic expression, creativity, and exploration.

• Sour Lemon Game – Children passed a lemon while music played and visited the “Sour Spot” when the music stopped.  This helped children to practice listening, movement, and social skills.
